Central Community Hub
A new place for information, advice, support and connection
We’ve opened something new in the town centre.
Central Library is now home to a Community Hub – a welcoming space where you can get advice, guidance and support in one place.
What is a Community Hub?
A Community Hub means local access to information and support, as well as a space to connect with others.
It brings together Council teams, partner organisations and community groups under one roof, so it’s easier to get help early – whether that’s for you, your family, or someone you care about.
We want this hub to feel
Welcoming
Easy to use
Joined up
Rooted in the community
And we want to shape it with you.
What’s available at Central Community Hub?
Alongside the library, the hub brings together a range of support in one place.
This includes:
A drop-in space where you can speak to someone who will listen and help you find the right support
Help with things like advice about health and wellbeing
Support with jobs, skills and training
Space for different services and partners to work together
You don’t need to know which service you need. Just start the conversation with us.
Why the town centre?
Central Library is easy to get to and open to people from across Swindon.
This hub will help us reach more people and provide support in a place that many already use and feel comfortable in.
Like our other hubs, this is part of a wider approach to making it easier to get help earlier and closer to where people are.
We’re starting, learning and improving
This is not a finished model.
We’re starting with a core offer and will continue to shape it over time.
That means we will:
listen carefully to people using the space
learn what works and what doesn’t
make changes and improvements as we go
Your feedback will directly influence how this hub develops and how future hubs across Swindon take shape.
Help shape the hub
This isn’t something being done to the community. It’s something we’re building with you.
We want to understand your views on the Central Community Hub.
Whether you’ve already visited or not, your feedback will help us improve how the space works and what support is available.
