Welcome to Let's talk Swindon for residents

Throughout January, Let's talk Swindon.

We want your feedback on our future priorities and how we can help residents and Swindon as a whole to thrive and prosper.

Your invaluable input will help us evolve our new corporate plan, called the Swindon Plan.

Together, we can shape the future of our Council and create a work culture where everyone thrives. We can make the Council the best it can be, which will ultimately benefit you as residents.

You can also find out more about the results of the 2023 Swindon residents survey and help us understand what we could do differently to respond to what residents have told us.

We are asking for feedback on the plan, either by attending events in person or by reading the plan and providing feedback below.

Swindon Plan in brief

It is themed across three, long-term, priority missions. The ‘Reduce Inequality’ mission is concerned with making Swindon a fairer place, reducing disadvantage and eliminating big disparities in life expectancy, education levels and social justice.

Creating a town ready for the challenges of the coming decades is the focus of the ‘Build a Better Swindon’ mission. Where possible, leading town centre improvement and creating more affordable housing in partnership with the private sector.

The third ‘Achieve Net Zero’ mission considers the Council’s efforts working alongside residents and organisations to combat climate change.

Breaking down the Swindon missions:

Reduce Inequality: “Ensuring we make Swindon a fairer place, reducing disadvantage, make poorer areas richer and eliminate big disparities in life expectancy, education levels and social justice.”

Reduce Inequality Wheel

Build a Better Swindon: “Create a town ready for the challenge of the coming decades, understanding what facilities and infrastructure we need. Understanding the Council’s direct and indirect role in improving the town centre and in creating more affordable housing while supporting and brokering support from the private sector.”

Build a Better Swindon Wheel

Achieve Net Zero: “Ensuring we fully play our part as a Council and a town in combatting climate change. Working with communities to find new ways of doing things that help not hinder the natural environment.”

Achieve Net Zero Wheel
